Education Initiatives: During the pandemic, we worked closely with the West Bengal Government to keep over 1.6 million Hindi-medium school students connected to learning.
Healthcare Support: We’ve extended aid worth over ₹8.4 lakh to organizations like the Institute of Neurosciences and Asia Heart Foundation, supporting critical medical care.


Disaster Relief: In times of national crisis—from the Gujarat Earthquake to Bihar Floods, the Indian Ocean Tsunami, and Cyclone Laila—we have stepped in, contributing more than ₹50 lakh to relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Support for the Underprivileged: Sanmarg Foundation regularly donates to causes that protect cows, assist with healthcare, and uplift disadvantaged communities.


Cultural and Spiritual Aid: We believe in the power of community and spirituality, and have extended our support to organizations like ISKCON and Satsang Sadan.

In Public Life

Vivek Gupta is the elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Jorasanko Constituency, representing the All India Trinamool Congress Party since 2021. He has served as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha (2012-2018). Over the years, Mr. Gupta has held leadership roles in various advisory committees of prominent organisations, while actively contributing to social welfare through several initiatives.
Mr. Gupta is also the Editor and Publisher of Sanmarg, the leading Hindi daily newspaper in Eastern India, with a circulation exceeding 200,000 and a readership of over one million across states including Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The newspaper house has a digital wing boasting of a global e-paper, a website in 29+ international and regional languages as well as an active follower base on its digital platforms.


Mr. Gupta holds prominent roles in several industry and media organisations. He is a member of the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), an international body that audits circulation data for select newspapers and periodicals. He also serves on the Media Accreditation Committee, a government body responsible for accrediting journalists. Additionally, he is the Vice President of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and the Indian Language Newspaper Association (ILNA), both of which work to promote and protect the interests of the print media industry. His involvement extends to key business institutions such as the Bengal Chamber of Commerce, Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Indian Chamber of Commerce, and the global Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), where he supports the growth of businesses and entrepreneurship. He has served as the President, MCCI.
Beyond his contributions to media and commerce, Mr. Gupta is deeply committed to social welfare. As President of the Kashi Vishwanath Seva Samity, he leads efforts to provide clean drinking water to millions. He is also a trustee of the Sanmarg Foundation, a non-profit organisation that has provided scholarships to thousands pf students for higher education besides donating over 2.5cr in disaster relief over its lifetime. His work with Nagrik Swastha Sangha, where he served as President, focuses on disaster relief, free medical services, and eye-care initiatives.


Further extending his impact, Mr. Gupta is a Founder Member of the International Vaish Foundation, a global network for the Vaish community, and serves as Vice President of the All India Marwari Federation, which addresses the diverse needs of the Marwari community. He also serves as President of Mr. Vishudanand Saraswati Vidyalaya, Kolkata’s first Hindi-medium school affiliated with the WBCHSE, which has produced eminent figures such as former RBI Governor Bimal Jalan and industrialist G.D. Birla.
